As a graduate student at the University of South Florida, Tampa, we have had various opportunities to create and manage elements of Instructional Technology and Design. The Instructional Technology program, which can be accessed as hybrid or online, is rich in rigorous content and support.
Please click here for more information about the program and career options by obtaining an advanced degree from USF's Instructional Technology department.
This interactive website is an example of one of the creative ways that students are asked to show mastery of their course content. During the Interactive Media course, facilitated by Dr. Sanghoon Park, students utlized programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Screencast-o-matic, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Dreamweaver, and more. Since 2008, I have been an elementary school teacher with Hillsborough County Public Schools. With a passion for STEM, I am currently focusing my learning on technology by obtaining a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology and Design from the University of South Florida.
At my school sites, I have been promoting school-wide culture in Instructional technology and facilitating professional learning opportunities as a Microsoft innovative Educator Expert and STEM lead teacher. My classroom is an opportunity for exploration and innovation as math and science students take ownership of their learning through the use of technology and fostering a STEM Mindset.
I have had the opportunity to present my passion and knowledge at several local and national conferences such as ST4T (2017 and 2018), ISTE (2017), and MSP STEM Academy (2016 and 2017); as well as being selected as a member of the HCPS Digital Literacy Task Force where we are collaboratively working with community members to implement a district wide proposal for the support of Florida’s Computer Science Standards. Through my leadership roles, I was awarded Tampa Palms Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2016-2017.
I consider myself a life-long learner as I continue to seek out growth opportunities regularly by collaborating with colleagues, community memebers, educational technology companies as an ambassador, and fellow Professional Learning Specialists at NCCE.
